Hilltrux Equipment Information

Our equipment was designed specifically to make our operators as efficient as possible.  In fact other carriers have begun to copy some of our innovations that help our drivers be the best in the industry.  Some of these innovations are as follows:

• Shelves in the cargo box so that each drop fitting has its place.  This saves the driver from having to dig through a jumble of fittings every time he unloads, and it prolongs the life of the fittings by not having them banging around together in an open box
• One end of the vapor recovery hoses are attached to the vapor system of the trailer.  This saves the driver the time it takes to deploy and connect two hoses at each delivery.
• Each compartment has a product indicator that can be set to identify the product loaded in each compartment.  This helps prevent delivery errors.
• Each compartment has a lexan sight glass, which provides visual confirmation to both the driver and the customer that the compartment is completely empty.
• 97% of our trailers are “V bottom” design, which allows for a complete drain even at slightly “nose down” delivery locations.
• Over 80% of our tractors are equipped with product pumps for above ground delivery. 
• 100% of our units are cellular equipped for fast and efficient dispatch.

Hilltrux Safety

Safety is an integral part of any service organization, and Hilltrux Tank Lines, Inc. is no exception to that rule.

We pride ourselves on our ability to get the product to the customer in safe, timely, courteous manner, regardless of the circumstances. Although there are situations that are beyond our control, our objective is to maintain our high standard of excellence that we continue to enjoy.

In the previous 12 month period, the Hilltrux fleet has traveled over 2,300,000 with zero (0) D.O.T. recordable accidents. This would result in an insurance loss ratio of 0%. Using 36 tractors, 39 trailers with 33 drivers we were on the road delivering product to our customers virtually 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During this same period we have had a total of 4 moving violations. That is one (1) moving violation for every 625,000 miles traveled. That is comparable to the average motorist driving for 52 years, with only one (1) violation. Hilltrux Tank Lines, Inc. continues to enjoy a company growth of 10% in the previous year, 2007.

During 2007 and into the first five months of 2008, Hilltrux Tank Lines, Inc. D.O.T., violation free, roadside inspection rate was double the national average. Again, nationally, the violation rate for Hilltrux Tank Lines, Inc. was 10 times better than the national average, since employing our own maintenance division.

In 2007 and again in 2008, Hilltrux Tank Lines, Inc. was honored with two of our drivers receiving the Ohio Trucking Association's Driver of the Month Awards. Additionally, Hilltrux Tank Lines, Inc. received the Great west Casualty Company/American Trucking Association award for Outstanding Achievement in Highway Safety, for traveling between 1,000,000 and 3,000,000 accident free miles.
